1. Online applications are invited from talented and outstanding sports persons having minimum
sports norms and educational qualification as given in Para 2&4 below in the following sports
fields for recruitment on Gr. ‘C’ posts PB-I Rs. 5200- 20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 1900/2000 and
2400/2800 (Revised Pay Scale after 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level 02/03 and 04/05) against the
Sports Quota 2023-24 on North Central Railway:
The recruitment is to be done in the following fields of sports.

2. SPORTS’ NORMS FOR RECRUITMENT:
The minimum sports norms for recruitment of sportspersons against Sport Quota through Open
advertisement for both (team and individual) events shall be as under:
A. For PB-I Rs. 5200- 20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 1900/2000 (Revised Pay Scale after 7th CPC
Pay Matrix Level – 02/03)
a) Represented the Country in any of the Category-B Championships/events as Categorized in
Para 2.1 below OR
b) At least 3rd Position in any of the Category-C Champions/events as Categorized in Para 2.1
below. OR
c) At least 3rd Position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Champions. OR
d) At least 3rd Position in National Games organized under aegis of Indian Olympic
Association. OR
e) At least 3rd Position in All India Inter University Championship organized under the aegis of
Association of Indian Universities. OR
f) 1st Position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category).
B. For PB-I Rs. 5200- 20200 + Grade Pay Rs. 2400/2800 (Revised Pay Scale after 7th CPC
Pay Matrix Level – 04/05).
a) At least 3rd Position in any of the Category-B Championships/events as Categorized in Para
2.1 below, except Gold Medal in Asian Games.

2.3 Badminton, Table Tennis and Tennis(Men): In Badminton, sportspersons may also be considered
for recruitment in GP 1900/2000/2400&2800 on the basis of their current annual All India
Rankings, as per following criteria:-

2.4.2 In Cricket (Women) at National level, following sports achievements in 4 days/One day Limited
Overs/Twenty-20 Overs Women Cricket Championships; organized under the aegis of BCCI may
also be considered for recruitment against the post having Grade Pay Rs. 1900 in PB Rs. 5200
20200.

2.6 Hockey (Men):
a) For recruitment against the posts having Grade pay Rs. 1900 or 2000 in pay Band Rs. 5200-
20200; participation in the International Tournaments (Senior or Junior) of four or more nations,
may also be considered.
b) Semifinalist in Senior National Championships may also be considered for Grade Pay Rs.1900 or
Rs. 2000 in pay Band Rs. 5200-20200.
Note:
(a) All the recruitments against Open Advertisement quota shall be at the Minimum of the Scale of
Pay.
(b) All the Championships mentioned above should have been conducted under the aegis of
recognized International/National/State Sports Federation and also recognized by Railway
Sports Promotion Board.
(c) For recruitment of sportspersons, on the basis of sports achievements in Junior National

3. PERIOD OF RECKONING SPORTS ACHIEVEMENTS: The sports achievements of Current
&Previous two Financial Years will be taken into account for eligibility. Therefore, the sports
achievements on or after 01.04.2021 will only be considered.
4. MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
(a) For GP 1900/2000 (7th CPC Pay Matrix Level 02/03): The candidate should have
minimum qualification of Intermediate or Equivalent Examination passed from any
Recognized Board.
(b) For GP 2400/2800 (7th CPC Pay Matrix Level 04/05): The candidate should minimum
qualification of degree or its equivalent. exam passed from recognized university/Institution.
For Technical Posts candidate shall be passed Act Apprenticeship/ITI.The Certificate of Act
Apprenticeship/ITI must be approved by SCVT/NCVT.
For appointment against sports quota in Technician–III, the minimum educational qualification
should be prescribed as 10th pass. However, the training period for such Sports quota
appointee will be 3 (three) Years unless they passes ITI qualification in the relevant Trade, in
which case it will be 6 months.
5. AGE: 18 - 25 years as on 01.01.2024. No age relaxation is permissible.
6. RECRUITMENT PROCESS: The recruitment will be based on trials and assessment of sports
achievements etc. The candidates who are found fit in trials will only be considered for next stage
of recruitment process. The recruitment process will be finalized by the HQ office.An
application/candidature of a candidate can be rejected at any stage, if found false and Railway
will not communicate the reasons whatsoever.
7. CONDITIONS FOR RECRUITMENT:
a) Before applying candidate should ensure that he/she fulfills the minimum eligibility norms as
given in Para 2, 3, 4 &5 above.
b) The name of the candidate and Father’s Name appearing in School/College certificates and in
Sports Certificates should be one and the same. There should be no difference.
c) The specific position (Free Style/Goalkeeper/Defender/Forward/76 Kg. etc.) played in the
particular game/event if applicable should be mentioned in the application without fail.
d) For posts where there is initial training prescribed, candidates have to qualify the training
before posting.
e) A caste certificate on the prescribed format for recruitment in Central Government services
issued by the competent authority in the case of OBC &SC/ST should be uploaded for the
purpose of taking relaxation as admissible.

f) The Selected Candidates can be posted anywhere & on any posts as per administrative
requirements.
g) The candidates should be in ready to appear for the trials at short notice after the last date for
receipt of applications is over.
h) The Sports persons if posted as Clerk cum Typist have to acquire typing skill test within a
period of 4 years at the speed of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in
Hindi on Typewriter and if typewriting skills are tested on Personal Computers (PCs), then 40
words per minute in English or 35 words per minute in Hindi. If they fail to pass Type Writing
test within four years from the date of appointment. then his/her appointment will be treated
as provisional till such time that he/she passes the Type Writing test and no
promotion/increment will be granted.
i) The sports persons recruited against sports quota should pass the Medical Fitness Test for the
post, he/she is being appointed.
j) Canvassing in any form shall disqualify the candidate.
k) In any doubt/ difference, English version will be applicable
8. Serving candidates:
Serving Railway staff and those working in Quasi-Administrative offices of the Railway
Organization such as Railway Canteens, Co-operative Societies and Institutes should have to
upload No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by their employer.
9. EXAMINATION FEE :
9.1. For all candidates except those mentioned in Para 9.2 below - Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five
Hundred Only) with a provision for refunding Rs. 400/- to those who actually appear in the
trial examination.
9.2. For candidates belonging to SC/ST/Ex- Servicemen/Persons with Disabilities (PWDs),
Women, Minorities and Economical Backward Classes -Rs. 250 (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty
Only)with a provision for refunding the same to those who actually appear in the trial
examination.
9.3. Economic Backward Classes candidates means those whose annual family income is less than
Rs. 50,000/-. They have to upload certificate on prescribed format as per Annexure-C.
9.4. The examination fee is non-refundable (except those mentioned in Para 9.2). It should be
paid ONLINE using internet banking or debit/credit cards (service charges apply for all which
will be borne by the candidates). Applications not accompanied with examination fee,
wherever required, will be summarily rejected.
10. HOW TO APPLY:
10.1. Candidates should apply only through ONLINE mode by visiting the website of
http://www.rrcpryj.org. Before applying, candidates are advised to go through the
instructions available on the website. The onus is on the candidate to prove that all the
information provided/ submitted by him/her in the application is true.
10.2. Candidates are required to carefully fill/provide all the details information regarding personal
details/Bio-Data, Examination fee etc. through ONLINE application.
NOTE-I: Candidates should ensure that their Name, Father's Name, Date of Birth should exactly match
as recorded in Matriculation or equivalent certificate. Any deviation found during Document
Verification will lead to cancellation of candidature and also to debarment. In case any
candidate has formally changed the name, then gazette notification or any other legal
document, as applicable should be submitted at the time of Document Verification. Such
candidates should indicate their changed name. However other details should match with the
matriculation certificate.
NOTE-II: Candidates are advised to indicate their active mobile number and valid e-mail ID in the
ONLINE application and keep them active during the entire recruitment process as important
messages will be sent by email and on mobile which will be deemed to have been read by the
candidates.
10.3. The examination fee of Rs. 500 for each category (For candidates mentioned in Para 9.2 Rs.
250) should be paid ONLINE using internet banking or debit/credit cards (service charges
apply for all which will be borne by the candidates). After making payment of fee relevant
details are required to be filled in the prescribed column of the ONLINE application.

10.4. Candidates are required to upload their scanned colour photograph of size 3.5cm x 3.5cm
(Black & White photograph is prohibited) in JPEG format and 20 kb to 30 kb at appropriate
place of website.
10.5. Candidates are required to upload their scanned Signature (in English or in Hindi) in JPEG
format and 10 kb to 15 kb at appropriate place of website.
NOTE: - The colour photograph of size 3.5 cm X 3.5 cm in JPEG format and 20 kb to 30 kb (not earlier
than three months from the date of notification), with clear front view of the candidate
without sunglasses or cap, should be uploaded. Candidates may note that their candidature
may be cancelled at any stage in case of uploading old/unclear photograph or Signature in
Capital Letter or variations between photograph uploaded and the actual physical
appearance of the candidate. Candidates are advised to keep two additional copies of the
same photograph ready with them for bringing along with E-Admit Card and valid Photo ID at
the time of examination.
10.6. During submission of ONLINE application, a Registration Number will be issued to each
applicant. Candidates are advised to preserve/note their Registration Number for further
stages of recruitment process / correspondence with RRC concerned.
NOTE-I:- Applications which are illegible, Mandatory columns not filled, incomplete, unsigned, signed
in capital letters, without photo of candidate, not having requisite fee are liable to be rejected.
NOTE-II:- In case the application of candidate is rejected, the reasons of rejection(s) may be viewed on
website of Railway Recruitment Cell. Reason of rejection will not be intimated to candidates
through post. SMS and E-mail alerts shall also be sent to the candidates on their registered
mobile number and E-mail ID, as indicated in their ONLINE application.
NOTE-III:- To avoid last minute rush, candidates are advised in their own interest to submit ONLINE
application much before the closing date since there may be a possibility of inability/failure
to log on to the website of RRC concerned on account of heavy load on the internet or website
jam during last days.
NOTE-IV:- Railway Recruitment Cell do not accept any responsibility for the candidates not being able
to submit their application within the last day on account of aforesaid reasons or any other
reason.
11. DOCUMENTS TO BE UPLOADED ALONG WITH APPLICATION FORM:
a) Copy of certificate in proof of academic qualification.
b) Copy of Certificate in proof of Date of Birth.
c) Copies of Certificates in proof of Sports achievements issued by Concerned
Federations/Associations/Boards.
d) SC/ST Cast Certificates issued by the competent authority as per Annexure A for availing
relaxation as admissible and free traveling facility (Second Class Railway Pass) for attending
Trial/Document Verification etc. At the time of obtaining reservation and traveling, the
Reservation Clerk and/or Ticket Checking Staff will ask for the original SC/ST certificate for
verification of genuineness of the candidate.
NOTE: -Hard copy/Print-out of the application, completed in all respect, and/or copy of SC/ST
certificate need not to be sent to this Office.
12. INVALID APPLICATIONS/REJECTIONS:
Candidates are requested to read all instructions thoroughly before submitting ONLINE
application. Otherwise their applications are likely to be rejected on one or more of the following
reasons. In case the application is rejected, candidates will be able to view their status ONLINE on
the website of RRC along with the reasons for rejection(s). SMS and e-mail alerts shall also be sent
to the candidates on their registered mobile numbers and e-mail IDs, if indicated in their ONLINE
application. Candidates will not be intimated by post regarding the reason(s) of rejection.
12.1. Application without signature/signature in capital or spaced out letters.
12.2. Application without Colour photo (or) photo wearing Goggles, with Caps, disfigured, small
size or unrecognizable or Photo-state copy.
12.3. Not possessing the prescribed Educational or Sports Qualification for the post(s) on the
Date of submission of Application.
12.4. Over-Aged or Under-Aged or Date of Birth not filled or wrongly filled.
12.5. Candidate's name figuring in the Debarred list.
12.6. Application without requisite Examination Fee.

12.7. Any other deemed irregularities.
13. In the event of any dispute about interpretation, the English version of the notification as published
will be treated as final.
14. Probation period: All the sports persons recruited against sports quota will undergo probation
period of two years.
15. Service Bond: The sportspersons recruited against Sport Quota shall execute the “Service Bond”.
The “Service Bond” period for the persons recruited against sports quota shall be of five years.
16. Legal matters: Any legal matter arising out of this employment notice shall fall within the legal
jurisdiction of Allahabad only.
17. Abbreviation: UR-Unreserved, SC-Scheduled Castes, ST-Scheduled Tribe, OBC-Other Backward
Class, PB – Pay Band, RRC- Railway Recruitment Cell.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
1. CANDIDATES TO ENSURE THEIR ELIGIBILITY BEFORE APPLYING: The candidates should
ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions prescribed for the post/examination. Admission of
the candidates for the trial examination(s) for the posts notified in this notification would be on
the basis of the information furnished by them in the ONLINE application. If at any stage of
recruitment or thereafter, it is found that any information furnished by the candidate in his
application is false /incorrect or the candidate has suppressed any relevant information or the
candidate otherwise does not satisfy the eligibility criteria for the post(s), his/her candidature will
be cancelled forthwith.
2. EXAMINATION FEE :
a) Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) for all candidates except those mentioned in Para b)

3. HOW TO APPLY: Candidates are required to apply only through ONLINE for a particular
post/Category on the website of Railway Recruitment Cell, Prayagraj http://www.rrcpryj.org.
Detailed instructions for filling up ONLINE applications are available on the website of RRC
Allahabad. Brief Instructions to fill up the same are given in Para Nos. 10, 11 and 12 of this
notification.
4. APPLICATIONS: The ONLINE application, complete in all respect, can be submitted upto
30/10/2023 till 23.59 Hrs. No physical copy of application is required to be sent to RRC, Prayagraj.

No other mode for submission of application is allowed.
Steps to submit ONLINE Application
01. Visit the website of the RRC http://www.rrcpryj.org
02. Click on the "ONLINE FORM" Link.
03. Click on the "New Registration" link.
04. Fill in the basic details viz. Name, Father's name, Date of Birth, e-mail Address and Mobile
number etc.
05. Follow the instructions and complete the registration process step-by-step for getting a
Registration Number & Password.
06. Login using the Registration Number and Password. Select the post.
07. Fill up other details such as Educational Qualification etc. Depending upon the Educational
Qualification of the candidate.
08. Pay examination fee as applicable, online using Credit/Debit Card or Internet Banking.
09. Candidates are required to upload their scanned colour photograph (size 3.5cm x 3.5cm) in JPEG
format 20 kb to 30 kb at appropriate placed of website.
10. Candidates are required to upload their Signature (in English or in Hindi) in JPEG format 10 kb to
15 kb at appropriate placed of website.
11. Login with Registration Number and Password in the link for "UPLOAD" and thereafter, upload
the file/scanned filled.
12. Upload the certificate in support of age proof in JPGE format of 150 DPI and size of the file should
be between 150 kb and 300 Kb.
13. Upload the Sports Certificate in JPGE format of 150 DPI and size of the file should be between
150 kb and 300 Kb.
14. Candidates belonging to SC/ST who want to avail the facility of free travel authority (second
class Railway Pass) have to upload scanned copy of their SC/ST certificates in the JPEG format.
The size of the file should be between 100 kb and 200 Kb.
15. Submit the application. Print out the acknowledgement for records.
16. Even after final submission if a candidate wishes to make any modifications, he/she can do
before closing date or three days after final submitting which is earlier.
